    The Tender

    Read the Offoffoff review

McMahon's Bar: Yorkville, New York: Joe Morgan is a neighborhood bartender consumed by gambling, drinking and love for a forbidden woman. Over a two-day period, Joe must confront his addictions and resolve a dangerous debt. Abandoned by friends and family as his life is on the line, who will tend to The Tender? Playwright Gregor Drozdek based the characters who populate The Tender on those he knew from a life lived in '80s-era Yorkville and Times Square, evolving from a street fighter/barback to a student, teacher and community activist. His plays reflect the life trajectory of men and women struggling to cope with a universal sadness who, despite their bleak lot in life, never stop believing that change can be willed by hope.
