Fragments of Henry VI and Richard III

"Fragments of Henry VI and Richard III" by William Shakespeare, directed by Andrei Serban. Evil, endemic in the time and space of history, manifests itself on the face of the earth, slips away and seems to disappear, until its next dawn appears on an unavoidable horizon. The world of Richard 3 is a world of extremes where evil crystallizes, the shape of its necessity is shatteringly visible, if only for a moment, and the inexorable geometry of a catastrophe emerges. Plantagenets are pitted against Plantagenets, united in blood, united in the abyss. Kings rise, and sink again into the void. The infernal history machine rolls on, the drivers changing at the wheel, and evil is its catalyst — moving the world forward, then eradicating itself until nothing remains of it but memories. Richard stares up from the void. The citizens of England and the citizens of this world stand at the edge of destiny. They may be comforted by knowing that if the right (good?) has not yet prevailed, it lies ahead. Richard's fall is yet to come.
