    Blue Before Morning

By Kate McGovern Directed by Gia Forakis

At dawn, a New York cabbie picks up a teenage girl headed for the bus station. Before long, they’re driving to South Carolina, accompanied by a very pregnant, foul-mouthed hitchhiker. The three strangers hit I-95 and find themselves on a journey of unusual coincidences and second chances that straddle past and present while leading them toward an unlikely future.

BLUE BEFORE MORNING features Kether Donohue, Phyllis Johnson*, Jenny Maguire*, Chris McKinney*, Flaco Navaja*, and Jennifer Dorr White*.

The creative team for BLUE BEFORE MORNING includes Suzanne Chesney (Costume Design), Katie Down (Sound Design), Obie award winning and Tony nominee, Derek McLane (Set Design), Bruce Steinberg (Lighting Design), and S. Katy Tucker (Video Design).

The production, produced by terraNOVA Collective at DR2 Theatre (103 East 15 Street, east of Union Square) will open to the press on October 19 at 7pm following preview performances on October 17 & 18 at 7pm. The show will then run Wednesday-Monday at 8pm, through November 8. Tickets ($20) are available online at or by calling at 212-239-6200.

terraNOVA Collective is a vibrant playground for artists devoted to innovative new and original theatrical works. Our multi-layered development process, solo arts festivals, and productions serve to nurture and liberate our community. Previous productions include Baby Steps by James Carter, Buck Fever by Juan C. Sanchez , Baby Love by Christen Clifford (as part of the 2006 soloNova Arts Festival), and Feeder: A Love Story (as part of the 2nd annual undergroundzero Festival). terraNOVA Collective also produces the soloNOVA Arts Festival, Groundbreakers Writer’s Workshop (which BLUE BEFORE MORNING was developed through), and the touring production of Masquerade: calypso and home, written and performed by Roger Bonair-Agard.
