    Alcohol

Meet Jack. He's twenty-seven. He loves Maria, Hemingway novels and whiskey. And he just went to his first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. In this tragically beautiful one man show filled with humor and memory, Jack tries to explain how he ended up at A.A. in the first place.

Alcohol. is the imaginative new play by Kyle Bradstreet — an emerging playwright…a young artist on the threshold of breaking through," says Tom Fontana, Emmy winning writer and producer. Bradstreet's most recent work, A Story From Abeyance, which he also directed, was voted the audience's favorite play of the week at The Shortened Attention Span Horror Festival in 2007. James Fauvell, who The Buffalo News dubbed "a pleasant find" and Fontana calls "an actor I admire," stars as Jack. Fauvell, who has performed in numerous downtown theatres, recently completed training at The Stella Adler School and The Labyrinth Theatre Company — under Co-Artistic Directors Philip Seymour Hoffman and John Ortiz — and can be seen in Nicolas of Myra, an independent feature to be released this Christmas.

This solo performance, written and directed by Kyle Bradstreet (A Story From Abeyance, The Café) and starring James Fauvell (The Day Jack London Got Pinched, Nicolas of Myra), is an affecting play about a lost young man attempting to understand his relationship with alcohol. The run will be produced in part by Shortened Attention Span.
