I Found Her Tied To My Bed

    Read the Offoffoff review

At Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, the hours are long, the staff is underpaid and the occupants are easy to kill. When a reckless coworker intrudes upon Beth's solitary life, Beth becomes infatuated and goes to extremes to understand her. But understanding does not necessarily produce a healthy relationship — sometimes it only produces corpses. A dark comedy performed Wednesdays at 8pm beginning March 2. I FOUND HER TIED TO MY BED is written and directed by Jeff Tabnick and produced by Propinquity Productions, LLC in association with Lightning Strikes. Talia Rubel and Shannon Kirk appear in the roles of nurses' aides Beth and Jan, respectively. Jeff Tabnick's play Dissatisfaction #4 was published in "The Backstage Book of New American Short Plays 2005," edited by Craig Lucas. In the introduction Mr. Lucas wrote, "Tabnick's ear for spoken American speech of a certain lilt and skew is so spot-on not a few of us are filled with envy and we look forward to more . . . A finely-tuned slice of lowlife." Jeff's full-length play Barrymore's Body premiered at the NYC International Fringe Festival 2004 to sold-out houses and critical acclaim. "Truly inspired. Well-written, existential but lighthearted Very entertaining" said nytheatre.com. Jeff is a co-founder of Propinquity Productions, LLC. His plays have been presented by LaMaMa ETC, Ensemble Studio Theatre, The Riant Theatre Company and The Atlantic Theater Company Acting School, among others. Josuha Tanzer of offoffoff.com found the 2003 production of I FOUND HER TIED TO MY BED to be: "An electric play, crackling with nervous energy a play that exposes the psyches of these women, which are really a dark corner of our own minds." Talia Rubel, artistic director of Lightning Strikes, appeared in Jeff Tabnick's 68 and Stalking Perfection. She was last seen in Lightning Falls and The Viy at HERE. Her film credits include the lead role in the feature film Red Cockroaches. Shannon Kirk's recent credits include Hot Pineapples Fermenting in the Sun at the 2004 New York City International Fringe Festival, The Middle of the Night and the lead in the short film Stasis Diametric.
