    Waitin' 2 End Hell

    Read the Offoffoff review

A new realistic play by William Parker, about deteriorating black middle class family relationships. "Waitin 2 End Hell" concerns the struggles of an African American husband trying to sustain his role as husband and father in face of his wife's rise in status in the business world, putting her in the position of head of the family. Like many black couples today, despite years of marriage, and with young children, are matters at the doorstep of divorce and the questions of whether or not this family is destined for failure. Playwright William Parker heads the Oak Park Center Theatre which is sponsored by the City of Sacramento's Parks and Recreation Division where he has written and presented four full length drama's and seven short plays. The cast features O.L. Duke who performed in Charles Fuller's Pulitzer Prize-winning original production of "A Soldier's Play" and his film credits include "Out of Time" and "Antwone Fisher". Trish McCall most recently appeared in the national tour of "The Exonerated" and off-Broadway in Woodie King Jr.'s "The Solution to All the World's Problems". Elica Funatsu is from San Francisco and her West Coast credits include "Merry Wives of Windsor", "The Tempest" and "Medea". Ron Scott's theatre credits include "Fences", "Sexual Perversity in Chicago" and "Piano Lesson" among others.
