    Promised Land

    Read the Offoffoff review

Promised Land explores issues of love, recrimination, guilt and responsibility. E.L. Sullins is a successful real estate developer in the Ozark Mountains, who has lost his sight in an accident years ago. As the economy begins to worsen in the early 1970s, E.L. pursues his dream of an empire while his wife, Robby, struggles to save their marriage. Both are bound and divided by the secret they share. Promised Land is directed by Tom Dybek, co-director of Mother's Blood which won the Lawrence Kasden Award for Best Film at the 2002 Ann Arbor International Film Festival. Playwright Harvey Huddleston has received four national awards for his play, Natural Phenomena, including the Playwrights-at-McCarter Award and Heideman Award Finalist at The Actors Theatre of Louisville.
