    Carmen Mofongo's Coquito Christmas Carol

Carmen's FOURTH ANNUAL holiday extravaganza, featuring a Lower East Side all-star lineup, has become an official Downtown boozy, bawdy December destination event. Audience members will be treated to generous, powerful, FREE samples of Carmen's HOMEMADE COQUITO (the traditional Puerto Rican holiday libation). In the proud tradition of Fonzie, Fred Flintstone and Mr. Magoo, CARMEN tears a page from DICKENS for a Mofongo-ized Latina take on the Christmas classic. THE PLOT: After hours spent waiting for Christmas Show celebrity guests who never arrive, Carmen is left alone and dejected — with only her vast collection of hats for companionship. Awaking from the blackout effects of a Coquito bender, Carmen finds the true meaning of the season as she's visited by 3 mysterious spirits who take her on a mood-altering trip . . . or is it just the COQUITO talking?
