Three American presidents knelt in prayer before the corpse of the Pope in St Peter's Basilica last night: President George Bush, his father George Bush Snr and Bill Clinton. With them were the First Lady, Laura Bush, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Doesn't it seem awfully, I don't know, medieval for the three most recent leaders of the world's most powerful country to go and humble themselves in front of the infallible agent of God on earth? Showing respect by attending his funeral is appropriate, but showing submission by kneeling before his body seems highly inappropriate. These are presidents of the United States, not 12th-century kings of Burgundy.

FILM: THE PRINCE & ME
Prince and repeat
Had an e-mail conversation that reminded me of this — the review I did of last year's movie "The Prince & Me," based more on the poster than on having actually seen the actual movie. I forgot to post it on Offoffoff, until now.
"OMG! There's like this prince and he is SO HOT and there's like this girl who's totally gorgeous but not like stuck up or anything, and she wonders if she can get this guy to go out with her since he's like a prince and everything. And he's all like you don't understand how hard it is to be a prince and she's all like but i luv u, and he's like i luv u2 and then they can't get together but when ur in luv there is always a way. The end. This was totally the most awesome movie cuz the guy was SO TOTALLY CUTE and also a prince and every girl can see herself in this movie cuz like if ur cute and not stuck up and u get a chance to hang out with a prince then of course hes going to see ur inner goodness and fall in luv with u. LOL!"
