Subject: campaigning for McGovern for Senate as a kid

Just wanted to add some info I know from working on George's campaign to become the first Democratic Senator in South Dakota in a long time and comment on the rivalry with HHH.
Humphry was my Dad's scout leader and George was my dad's friend and my dad ran McGovern's campaign for Senator in our Beadle county, South Dakota. He used to come to our small house and my brother and I would put up posters for him.
He won his senate seat by something like 700+ votes.
He won my county by 700+ votes. George told my father he owned him his senate seat and he would do whatever he could in return.
My father never asked him for anything in return.
These men talked of making this nation great in ways that were only pretended until them and they meant it.
They actually helped change a lot and they knew why it needed to be done and they knew how to tell people in a way that inspired them to help this country live up to its ideals, not just push military power around the world make the enemies we created, afraid to retaliate.
But it is good to remember that many of the philosophies came from Humphrey to begin with in response to the horrible conditions of the country after politics were in the hands of people with the ideas of the ones in power today.

I am trying to find this movie for my father.
Did it only play in New York?
Will it ever be on DVD?
I was 12 when my Dad and George lived this and remember it as an exciting time.
    Thank you,
    Gary Marston
