Terrible!! - Coming from a foreign flick film fan.

Ok, I noticed that the people who reviewed this film are biased since its a "homegrown" movie (I'm all for PRIDE, but if a movie sucks, please tell the truth). That is fine and all, but it's a waste of time for everyone else. The movie is BAD! First of all, I LOVE foreign films. I've seen TONS of South American films, Asian films, Middle Eastern films, European films, Australian films, and of course, North American films, but this is just one of my WORST yet. They should have NOT included this in the foreign aisle of Blockbuster Video since I have seen better telenovelas (Spanish TV Drama). The story had potential, but the director was uncoordinated and chose to include "filler" stories about each of the main characters that had nothing to do with the main story - the closing of the fish factory. I was interested in the premise since I was led to believe that this is about the closing of one the largest companies in Puerto Rico - Starkist Tuna and devasted the local economy. Instead, the "drama" is very contrived, the camera work seems like it was shot by a college film student (A freshman!) project. The acting is horrendous. And also the PRODUCT placement all over the movie was just ridiculous: from BOOST milkshake, Maybelline makeup, to GOYA foods, haha! The thing might as well been a long tv commercial! I understand that its a small budget film, but EL MARIACHI was in the same league (budget-wise) and it is BRILLIANT compared to this garbage. I wanted my 120 minutes of life back!! If you do decide to watch it, be prepared for a disappointment. You will thank me for it.
