Just because you don't understand the refereneces doesn't mean it's crap. If all you seek from film is emotional response, you're doomed to mass-produced Hollywood crap that seeks only to entertain rather than question or contemplate like the best cinema does.

cinema is most effective when it elicits an emotion or a response. I hate mat barney. there that is my response. It's funny how when nobody gets what the hell the filmmaker is trying to present they scramble to such safe banal comments as visually amazing, provocative, or ambitious(in reference to it's size)
In this case I for one couldn't't be more in agreement. The cremaster cycle is just that, a visually amazing, provocative, and ambitious load of crap. Like the song says "You'll dance to anything."
