Subject: Gongdong gyeongbi guyeok is a Film Bush should see
    Date: Mar 9, 2002
Sender: Carl Atteniese, Jr.Previous | Next

As one who lived in Korea and feels very close to Korean people and sentimentality, I was awed by JSA and 'brought home as well.'

Though it is a difficult film to watch and not so calming and sweet as say, Christmas in August, it has a real softness, despite its violence and dark underbelly. This, I feel is the quintessentially Korean trademark; to blend all emotional pulls into one work. A rare experience in western, or American films.

JSA cannot leave a sensible person dry-eyed, not to mention a sensitive one. Bush should see this with his entire cabinet. Why don't we start a letter campaign to him?

If anyone is interested, my website has many things Korean, including a poem directed at Koreans; Link target="_new"> www.atteniese.com
