    Reader comments on Dog Days

    Subject: Difficulty of Love
    Date: Jun 11, 2004
    Sender: SirCatPrevious | Next

"Dog Days" looks pretty cold, gross even crew a lot of times, but deep down, it has this undercurrent of something you probably the last thing come to mind - love.

People are desperate to be loved and to love others: The teacher loves her lover deeply; her lover's friend loves her violently; The boyfriend of the stripper loves her (somewhat obsessively); The old retiree loves/misses his dead wife profoundly; The devoiced couple love/miss their dead daughter, and each other, the love is so deep, sometimes it turned to hatred...

Over all, the whole movie is talking about people's desire to love and being loved, and in comtemporary industrilized society, how people are not trained, practiced to express their love and affection towards the objects of their love and how human love is twised into something indifferent and ugly in eveyday life.
