I absolutely agree with Frank. I am a mexican documentary maker and have been in the canyon where Reygadas shoot the film, its called Barranca de Metztitlan (a national park whose name in ancient aztec language means something like "valley of the Moon") and is one of the most interesting places I"ve seen in Mexico, filled with magic. I am so glad that a fellow mexican film maker could take the beauty of this place to the big screen and show it to people in other countries. By the way, do you know how could I reach Carlos Reygadas? I have heard that he lives in Madrid. If you know how could I get to contact him, I would apreciatte if you let me know. Thanks

Japon is haunting
Japon is truly haunting and the aging Ascen steals the show. It was refreshing to not see young people in this movie. This movie has captured something more about Mexico than many people might feel comfortable seeing, though. I will definitely go see Reygadas' next film.
