I didn't find a significance to Betty, Diane or Camilla - there is a significance to Rita, and obviously to Adam.
What I don't understand is how close people came in this discussion board without ever making the next step - Adam's house is clearly the garden of eden - the pink and blue or evil (jealousy) and good (truth) - "Gene" the "pool" cleaner even has a snake t-shirt!, "shut everything down" means just that; Diane, who betrays Camilla (with a kiss!), is late for the dinner party at which Adam refers to Coco (the Manager?) as his "mother..." Havenhurst is clearly Heaven, Canmilla is Christ and Ruth/Betty/Diane "left the 12." The Cowboy is Christ resurrected - the raised skull and the light (I am the resurrection and the light). The phone call chain is the spread of the word of God. Dan Hedaya is clearly Lucifer - his t-shirt features an X'd-out cross, and he looks for Camilla (Christ) among prostitutes. Hedaya's attempt to quietly kill the long-haired guy (Christ) fails miserably - he's not too difficult to spot.
Adam is Adam. Physical life is a dream - in the long run we're all - physically - dead. But the dream is also an audition - we play the part we're given, mankind, as a whole, directs the movie - but the consequences of failing to choose the right "lead" are disastrous.
The symbolism is rampant - jewelry means divinity, the divine live above the city and have to come down (Jesus' rented office space, Adam's moving into Cookie's rooms from his house on the hill, the Castigliani brothers and Betty landing in a plane), birds of paradise, the picture on Adam's hotel room wall, the cross formed by the window slats, and the position of the pull ring, before Camilla appeared ("you've come back," Diane says).

I think your analysis of the names is brilliant. I have to think it was intentional on Lynch's part. If not, you have added another dimension which clarifies a lot of the "mystery"
