I am married to a Peruvian, I have been to Peru many times.....I have seen before 911, in the US, what the Shinning Path have done in this 3rd world. I have read the book, and will be renting the movie soon.. One needs to go to such a country like this to learn how to appreciate our "LEADING" fathers...be they honest or crooks!! I have seen in Baranca, Peru, a building being guarded by a man with a sawed off shotgun protecting the PHONE COMPANY.....one cannot enter without producing ID, and leaving same until their business is done with the phone company!! NEED I say more??

It comes as no surprise that something as simple as language is used to denegrate the strength of this film, that and the need for comprehensive explanations behind politics.... Hello, who can explain politics in any language let alone English or Spanish? Some will always look upon the surface and miss the depth below. All I can say is Viva el Malkovich!
