    Subject: neglected birds?

I'd like to know what became of all the "bird actors" after the making of the movie, Winged Migration? How is it that the movie's bird caretakers could allow their "pets" or beloved subjects to get shot, become stuck in tar and left to die, etc? Were any birds killed in the making of the film? Just curious. Was it not completely staged? Therefore not an unveiling of events that would occur naturally in nature. In other words, setting aniimals in perilous situations, and filming them in their demise seems rather inhumane to me.
