    Reader comments on Assassination Tango

Tanzer is as much a movie critic as McDOnalds to the gourmet menu. The only ugly American seems to be him, since he makes it sound like if a movie does not meet the "nice-guy-gets the girl" formula, he can't understand it. The Duval-Manuela scene having a not so casual conversation at the coffe shop is one of the best scenes I saw in my life, as memorable as the "are you talking to me" line from Taxi driver, or Arnold's "I'll be back". This movie is pure art, in its purest, non=special effects form. Buy the video, I recommend it no matter what Tanzer says.

    Re: Asassination Tango

For those who do not know anyhing of the tango world, it is difficult to identify the essence of tango in the film. I agree that this film did not really cpature the essence of the tango world to its fullest. However, this movie is based on a real man in Buenos Aires. The only difference is, the real man is not an american but an Argentenian who has danced all of his life. Again, this movie can be considered a biography on a man from Argentina.

I urge anyone who likes danger, mystery and passion to explore the tango world of Argentina.
