Reader comments on A Mighty Wind

This is a very funny film, a lot of comments i have read are from people who are fans of the folk genre, and therefore seem to take it all a little bit to serious and suffer from nostalgia. This is over the top in a controlled style and Guest uses his experience from Spinal Tap, Waiting for guffman and Best in show to wrap this film up to be the best of all of the others. This film can't be compared to Micheal Moores honest and heart felt documentarys that are full of hard hiting facts shown with some great wit as A Mighty Wind is purely for laughs. I don't know anything about folk music and this film hasn't made me want to learn anything about folk music, but it certainly made me laugh out loud, this is a classic.

Mighty Good Endevor
Even if you watch A Mighty Wind and never laugh you may enjoy it for the performance.
Take the film serious and yes it is a documentory about folk musicians doing a reunion of Pop USA folk music.
Actors who have to not only act but create their charactors dialog are a facination for me.
As a documentry his movie has better at documented its topic than any Micheal Moore film. Instead of trying to make you think though A Mighty Wind tries to get you to laugh.
Perhaps a fewer less lies are needed to make one laugh than to think.
