The movie was about the imagination.
It was a play on the creative process and the way a story is made for an author and how it affects them. She is a mystery writer so as the story begins to unfold she plays the part of the main character, the story her mother wrote is the side plot. We get hints to this with the midget, the mysterious car accident and then the murder along with the fact that if the publisher's wife had written the book and he had read it before, he would have recognized it reading it again. Mystery as a genre is full of sex, murder and the unexplained. Her attraction to the publisher is the beginning of her idea for a novel and it just unfolds from there. I thought it was a great example of the creative mind and the creation of a story. And as far as the sexual content, HAVE YOU SEEN ANY OF OZON'S MOVIES???
