I saw the movie and since now I live in Egypt I went to visit El Alamein. I have to say that once there I had the feeling I already new the places I was visiting. I think the movie has been representing with high level of reality the struggle of the soldiers fighting against a non visible enemy in one of the hotest desert depresions. Difficult to imagine day light tank combats ... the night activity seems more realistic when trying to gain some meters of hard sand on a completly flat monocoloured land !!

not really a war movie
I saw the movie yesterday, I have to say it's not really a true war movie, but it looks like more a sort of doocumentary of the everyday life of the italian soldier in the african desert.
I was dissapointed about the battle scene....only less than ten minutes and it was at night time.
I would really enjoyed to see a battle with the Ariete tanks against the english. But we didn't seen any italian (or german) tank in the movie.
Anyway good movie, but not really a war movie.
But I hope we will see more and more Italian war movies telling us a "hidden" and anonymus story of WW2.
