    Subject: PUNCH DRUNK LOVE?!?!!
    Date: Jul 31, 2003
Sender: James B CheathamPrevious | Next

I think PT Anderson's BOOGIE NIGHTS is one of the best movies ever made, period. HARD EIGHT was brilliant. MAGNOLIA was an overindulgent melodramatic nightmare and PUNCH DRUNK LOVE is still overindulgent at just around 2 hours. This film reminds one of why Quentin Tarantino has taken such a long time off away from film. PUNCH DRUNK LOVE not only rips off other filmmakers in the director's search for vision, but he rips off himself! Take a break, Paul and come back in 5 with something original and fresh.
