    Dear Choles:
On my understanding you are too concerned with your own sexuality.
Gays are part of this world and they also can have children and discover the right to be happy and have, first of all, self respect.
Certainly, when we see a film, we enjoy and analyze characters, but the important thing is the story, and this is a real picture of a society in the fifties.

    disappointed

I was very disappointed with this movie. It seems that every major Hollywood actress/actor feels the need to play a 'gay' character to show how talented they are. Please, gay people have been playing straight characters for a lot longer time and you don't see them getting the accolades that the straight actors/actresses are getting. Dennis Quaids character was gay and in the closet and had some dilemmas to work through along with being whiney and a horrible father. Could he be any more pathetic? And through it all poor Julianne Moore gets left by her gay husband for a younger man and when she throws caution to the wind and is ready to be with the gardener he rejects her.
    Not impressed at all!
