every line was about a single person choosing heaven or hell.
coco is "the manager" (the sign has an arrow pointing up) and says "just call me blah blah... everybody else does" which seems a direct refernce to the different religions attaching a single name - the naming God.
The audition was something that had to happen. would the character choose evil or good? its quite easy to see how almost everything is pulling the character towards hell, while coco is giving chances to repent which of course are not takin.
since heaven and complete release of negative emotions (think of the car crash in the beginning - yin/yang, good vs evil...) is the ultimate underlying factor, the entire movie changes.
other random bits from my uneditted post:
the "baton" so to speak for the "audition" (for heaven or hell) is passed between 3 people in my minds eye. People who are in Gods court w/out knowing it AREN'T HOME (room 12, this person doesn't believe in the search for god - at least less than the primary 3) and room 17 - who is so far off the heaven list that she is already dead.
If you think of the first half of the movie as them passing off the baton for the 'audition'.

Mystic Jews, Gnostic Christians and MH...
Have you considered MH as a version of the story ofcreation and fall from grace ? All of the elements and characters are there... Adam, Eve (combo of Camilla & Betty), the Cowboy, the God Awful man. The character jump between the Garden & Earth in relation to their choices and & the push of Higher powers.
God had trouble with the concept of the female element of creation & learned that Eve had to be more than just the opposite/mate to Adam. C & B were different ends of the same being (night, dream, destruction blending with day, action, creation). All of existence was created from the void and I think God was caught by suprise when the need for balance made itself know. If God was Good, there was the necessity of Evil...Scary Bum. Order had to be matched by Random unseen events...limo crashes, throwing all the plans off for a while.
There are many other Jewish mystic (Kabbalah) and Christian Gnostic themes running thru the film and are very similar to the Hindu ones, but it would take to long to detail.
Is anyone familiar with the slightly more cryptic elements of Genesis? If so, please watch the film again and see if you notice anything...!
