Re: I live near Danvers state hospital, been insid
Jake, are people still able to get inside Danvers (without getting arrested, I mean--like a legal tour or something)? I am designing a production set in an insane asylum and since I will be in that area soon, I was wondering if anyone would let me and my director take a look and get some pictures. (I'm sure as hell not doing it alone.)
I notice that you have an email so maybe I'll just email you about that.
I LOVED Session 9, by the way. I'm a hardened, jaded horror movie junkie and this scared the living daylights out of me. It was really more the exterior and interior of Danvers that did it for me--I guess it all depends on what scares you, and old prisons and mental hospitals have always scared me. Not to mention the incredible sound design. I thought the production designer was a genius until I read that they really added & changed very little of Danvers' interior. No matter, the production designer's still pretty talented.
Anyway, great movie.
