i am jewish, but i am not religious at all, however, i think that that last comment made had no argument... just because the people in mea shearim donęt open up doesnęt mean that "Perhaps the actions of Kadosh would not be so incorrect there"... i think that is no way to judge someoneęs way of life... i think that a movieęs objective is to make you believe what you see so you find the plot realistic, the fact that is a realistic movie does not mean itęs real... itęs the vieweręs responsability to investigate and be aware of the difference between a movie and reality, itęs like saying (in a dumb example) that spiderman exists because it looked real in the movie

Re: Response from an orthodox woman

As an American Jew who often attends an Orthodox Temple and is familiar with the religious rituals, I didn't see Kadosh as very indiciative of the religion at all. However, Mea Shearim, the Israeli (though they wouldn't call it so) community where Kadosh takes place, is full of Jews that are so Orthodox they are referred to as "ultra-ultras", and not only do they not welcome outsiders (women tourists have been stoned if not dressed demurely enough), they aren't talking. Mea Shearim has been compared to the Eastern European shtetls of the 18th and 19th century. Perhaps the actions of Kadosh would not be so incorrect there.
