Reader comments on Letters from the Dead

    Subject: Re: film review

This film is not a typical war movie. At this particular moment in human history, we all need to be reminded of what war is really about: human beings, with their human feelings, fears, joys, and tragedies. This is what "Letters from the Dead" by Ari Taub shows us: "ordinary" men trying to survive amongst the horrors of war, hoping to return home and, well, be happy. The acting and cinematography are beautiful and convincing, and the absence of overdone special effects and moral bias towards "the enemy" make the film look real as life itself. I hope that American public will be able to appreciate Mr.Taub's untraditional view of the war, and re-evaluate some of the outlived stereotypes.

I think this film is just about what we need to see nowadays: war is not a subject about inteligent weapons or generals far away from the front line, but about people, human beings, no matter to which country they belong to.
