I feel that Garth Fagan is working on an intellectual plane never before explored by the dance world. So rare is it that a work of art (be it a painting, a song, a dance) can convey the beauty, complexity, and inteligence of our human culture with the subltly and truthfullness of a poem. With a pure an sophisticated devilery, this is his ability. The startling thing about being in his audience is the feeling that you are not in any audience, but rather that the dances a mere reflections of us.
