...who hated this movie and understood it. It seems that everybody else loved it, whether they understood it or not. Stop looking at the plot. Stop trying to figure out what the hell is going on. The meaning is basic and is contained simply in the way the movie makes you feel--drained and disturbed. L.A. takes dreams and chews them up and spits them out, and they become rotten and decayed, and the dreamer can«t even tell until it«s too late. The End. The old people in the taxi are the beginning, the coming to L.A., the bum is the end. It«s as simple as that. You all try to figure out what«s going on when the meaning is right in front of you as plain as day. The movie was dark and disturbing and fruitless. I didn«t like it at all. I hated Blue Velvet even more. Guess I«m not much of a David Lynch fan--I think I like being happy a little bit too much. The only thing I could appreciate about this movie was the cinematography and the use of symbolism--after all, it is only through the symbolism that you can understand the meaning, not through what«s physically in front of you on the screen.

Remember when betty awakes when she is making coffee..."You've come back she says..." it then jumps and she is standing there and goes to teh couch to fool around....it's this that makes me believe that CAmilla is the olf g/f that moves her things out. She appears after the fooling around on the couch scene...she was always there
