Rain grips you with the tearing plight of Janey as
she grasps the disintegrating union of alcoholic
parents, their neglect of the two children during their annual holiday by the lake, her adorable little brother is now a grudging responsibility to amuse and occupy him,at the mercy of her sexuality.
The stunning musical score and cinematography do much to impart the sense of doom forthcoming for the children will pay an enormous price for the
parents' abandonment of their needs and caring as they party at night and sleep off their hangovers by
day. Janey becomes aware of the mother's affair
with a photographer-drifter who lives on his boat,is resentful and jealous and will ultimately
manipulate him to have sex with her. The metaphor
of water abound, the lake itself
finally a storm of rain, and tears that overwhelm the sister as she tries to revive her dead brother.Without adding more of the narrative, I'll
sum up the film RAIN as one of the best and most
memorable movies that will stay with me a long
time,a tough unstinting slice of life and profoundly of our time.

    Fantastic

wonderfully heartfelt portrait of real people and real-life situations. Incredible cinematography. Excellent score. Poignant and moving, a true milestone in modern film making.
