Duh...I just realized that my logic is flawed because the cops were part of the dream, which means the body is "missing" because Diane needs Camilla to be alive...so she probably really is dead and thus the blue key. I still maintain that her hit man is an idiot, however. :>)

Yes, the presence of the key signifies that the hit has gone through successfully, so Camilla is dead. It doesn't really matter what it opens, it's just a symbol. Diane is staring at the key intensely when she snaps and decides to shoot herself, so staring at the key represents Diane wallowing in the realisation of what she has done.
And as for the box... well, it may not necessarily mean anything either. I did notice that there is a blue box in the bedside table that Diane pulls the gun out of. Maybe it's incorporated into her dream because it's the last thing she sees.
