I agree. My family and I have had a heated discussion on Afghanistan and the War. We just returned from seeing 'Kite Runner' after reading the book. We found 'September Tapes' in the local Blockbuster's and found clarification for a number of our questions. We don't understand why this excellent adventure film wasn't more widely circulated in the U.S. We particularly liked the 'Making of the Movie' sequence and the introduction to the concept and the actors. We also re-read Joseph Conrad's 'Heart of Darkness' where they go down the river to find the villain. They credit Conrad with inspiration.
Great effort and kudos to these young filmmakers!

I am in total agreement with Ms. Holmes. My wife and I just returned from seeing the movie 'Kite Runner' and we again played the DVD that we had acquired of 'September Tapes'. 'The Making of the Movie' sequence with Wali, the Director, Christian and writer, Christian Van Gregg added great dimension to our questions about the Afghanistan of today. The young filmmakers ask hard questions and are obviously mesmerized by the people and their stories. This production should be seen in both the theatres and on TV. How do we make this happen?
