As a former foreign student in the US along time ago, , I seee that North Americans in general are a long way from understanding the [real] international situation. Movie goers should disregard if some or most of the scenes are "staged", they should look at the eyes of the ordinary people the crew meets in Afghanistan, they are quite revealing as a mix of awe, deep fear and just a small slice of hope.
I have seen that look many times, but no so strong as in this docudrama, exception made to the stills by the Brazilian photographer Sebasti‹o Salgado .
Mrs Holmes is to be lauded for her comment.

Wow! Why didn't we find this in the theatre?
My family just stumbled on 'September Tapes' at the local Blockbuster's, We were mesmerized, particularly at the 'Making of the Movie' section. We wonder why this never got wide release when the subject is so topical and the film well-done. Is there a possibility that it will be re-released to the movie houses? The topic is so completely today and Afghanistan is a cauldron waiting to erupt again. The American public needs to see this film.
