The movie was called "The Maestro".
What I can't help but knowtice about your review Nicole is that perhaps you were looking for somethig else when you viewed this flick.
We all new that it was mostly about the Garage and since that place was his baby, how else coulkd the story not have alot to say about Larry. Nicole it was good for the kids that lived @ 84 King to hear and see that place again if only for a a short while. It was even better to hear every single name that shaped dace music mentioned. The film was extreamly factual and that is rare i these types of films.
So may of the founders of this genre of music were very hard to track down I'm sure.
Watch it again w/an open mind w/ someone who was there. Theyed probably be around 50-ish in 2007 and even they don't spent as much time around there they still know the village like the back of their hand.

    Response to this comment:
    No Good

This film leaves much to be desired. The thought process was confusing. I was truly disappointed. The film opens on what you think will be the story of the history and influence of the early "underground" music world and morphs into what becomes a tribute to Larry Levan alone. The film lost focus on what I assume the director intended to document: the story of the beginning of a dance culture and the people and clubs who were at the forefront of this revolution. At the end, the story tries to return to it's original intent, but the idea that these legendary establishments paved the way for future generations was not clear. Not to mention, I really wanted to hear the sounds of those original clubs and legendary DJ's Seems poorly directed in my opinion...
