Reader comments on Hiding and Seeking

    Subject: Letters were exchanged...
    Date: Jul 28, 2007
    Sender: Jay SchwartzPrevious

I watched this documentary and the impression was given that when the rescued man went to the USA after the war, he did not communicate with his Polish rescuers.

In the Special Features section on the DVD, though, it later was discovered that letters (and possibly money, if I remember...) were indeed exchanged between the rescued man and the Pole from something like 1950 up until 1959. (It is unknown why they finally stopped corresponding.)

The letters were discovered about a year later after the film was made. Ironically, neither gentlemen remembered the exchange of letters, probably due to their advanced ages and memory.

So the bottom line was the Pole was not forgotten...
