The stories that the elders tell you about a spooky place where they once saw a "ju on" looking thing are true. I myself believe in those stories too, for my grandfather who had his own personal experience seeing those undead back in the old days in Japan. They lived in a small town near Okinawa.. My grandfather's cousin name Nanaka who had died from asthma had come back to haunt her family, due to the fact that she was the oldest daughter. She had a younger sister named Asuka. Whatever her younger sister caused, she was taking the blame. Therefore, after awhile they grew to ignore her. The day before she died, her family purposly left for a vacation without telling her. Her condition was turning out bad. She had wrote a letter to my grandfather to buy her medicine. It was 2 days after my grandfather got the letter. When my grandfather got to her house, she was laying on the floor with no pulse. and in her hand, she was holding another letter. It was said that she will make those who left her on purpose pay. A month later, Nanaka's family died from an unknown source. The police said there were no trace of the murderer. My grandfather then suspected that it was Nanaka. And when he was there with the police at Nanaka's house, he saw a glimpse of Nanaka with an evil smile at the door. But as soon as he turned away, Nanaka was next to him holding his arm. That frightened my grandfather, and so he jumped. The cops asked what was wrong, but he didnt say anything.

    So the stories are true.

So thats my grandfather's story when he was 15 years old. Does this answer your questions?
