    Subject: Your Criticism surprises me!

I must admit I am surprised to read your highly cridical review. I thought the Rocky Road Movie shed an amazing light on what is yes and old problem, racial prejudice.
Maybe you are not that familiar with police brutality, or any form of repetitive violence for that matter. At first you do tend to get indignant and uptight but after awhile and several incidents the helplessness takes over and you just shake your head and say, "Again"? I found it crafty the way the two sisters addressed the beating as a common occurence by not over reacting. There was an underlined truth that I'm sure many many people can relate to. I personally grew up in the suburbs of New York City and am very aware of racial tension and numerous other forms of predjudices. It seems to me that you want to add a big flash and shine to something that is in fact grey and dismal. Each time I see a movie like this I can only hope that it will awaken love in people and help eliminate the hate. This is the theme and intent of The Rocky Road Movie. I thought it was carried out in good style! As you said, this subject has been spoken on before, but... the problem still exists.
