even before Jacob's Ladder, this story goes back to a short story written by Ambrose Bierce, "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge", from which a short film was made decades ago. I believe IMDB has that film available for viewing. Definitely a must see for fans of the "coming to terms with death / letting go of life" plot-line.

This movie has been done before!
Has anyone seen "Jacob's Ladder" with Tim Robbins? Although Lynch has grabbed the audience once again with non-chronological filmmaking and oddly-placed characters, we've seen this type of filmmaking before and after ("The Sixth Sense").
