    Reader comments on Enduring Love

    Subject: Books are frequently better
    Date: Feb 26, 2007

I felt a sensation of emptiness when I saw the film related to the novel feelings.

As regards the book, I confess Iāve had to deal with some chapters until Iāve got kidnapped by the plot. But when the one-way mad love story appeared in it, I began needing more and more stuff to discover the deepness of the main characters. The ćmonographicä chapters öas you probably agree with me- are wonderful written. For instance, Iām thinking in the love letters of Jed Parry, the first visit at Loganās widow home or the relationship between people inside the ćgunās owners houseä.

But you are probably wondering about my feelings on the film. Well, when I finished the book, I sat peacefully in the sofa and I started seeing the movie with no interruptions. Chapters were appearing one after another with many stories left among them if you were comparing the film with the book. The speed was so fast than, oh God, only after a while I realised that the film was finished. I wondered how it was possible to end the film with so many thinks still to tell!

Actually, when I see a film based on a book after reading it, I frequently have the sensation Iām watching a second quality product that not fits in the original story. Probably, itās my fault.
