    Reader comments on Enduring Love

    Subject: Differences book vs. film
    Date: Feb 20, 2007
    Sender: Irene BernalPrevious | Next

Once I have both read the book and watched the film, I am to list the main differences I have found between them, as for example:
    - the main characters' jobs which, in my opinion, are changed for a justified reason.
    - some events occur at different points of the story such as the first call which Joe receives from Parry, which in the book takes place at night and in the film in the morning.
    - several facts are different between both stories: joe's birthday in the book, the spate of letters received from Parry as well as the amount of calls, the three visits to the police station and obviously, the two different endings.

From my point of view, the book is a riveting piece of work which lets the reader get involved with the story from the begining up to the very end. In contrast, I consider the film's ending unclear because of the lack of information to guess whether Joe and Claire are going to marry or not.
