I think it's a good film and i enjoyed it.
For me, with no knowledge of the art of acting, it *entertained* me, which i regard to largely be the point of the movie medium.
The movie has a personal fave feature, that of being unglamorous and un-helL.A.-NYC hyper-star focused (i've lived in both places in case you think i'm a total hayseed.) The characters are plain and normal. It even surpasses Session Nine in its average-person orientation (a flick that has a similar plot method) and that is saying a lot (i don't enjoy current caruso stuff but think that one was great for the stated reason).
The movie also has that most untangible quality, its own 'tonality'.
I'd much rather see stuff like this than hyper-star, hyper-dramatic, hyper-high-brow, hyper-disbelief-suspension, intergalactic-super-being-based hyper-hype industry fare. i think i'm not alone in this.
