ãThis movie ranks up there with the best of 2001 on the same par as Mementoä
That has to be the most absurd comment Iâve ever read. Memento had a great plot, was directed *VERY* well, was/is innovative, made you think, and freakinâ told the story backwards for Christâs sake. Session 9 on the other hand had no real plot, was directed fairly well but nothing extraordinary, and relied on imagery and suspense to fill in the enormous chasms left from lack of plot. Session 9 also tried to set up various red herrings, but never fully developed them or incorporated them into the partial plot or whatever you want to call it. Memento and Session 9 donât even come close to comparison, and I feel guilty even mentioning them in the same sentence. With that logic, you could say Ishtar is as good as Full Metal Jacket. I hope you weren't serious

Session 9
Smart, contained to the point of claustrophobia, all parts underplayed (even Caruso in his best big screen outing to date), and a superb storyline. This movie ranks up there with the best of 2001 on the same par as Memento for a new take on an oft-told tale. Be sure the doors are locked and there are no possible diversions for the evening. Oh yes, and leave a light on just in case. Great film...espescially for an American production. Loved it let's see more of the same genre...a thinking person's horror tale.
