Subject: Timothy's intentions were good
Date: Mar 3, 2006
A lot of negative things have been said about Timothy Treadwell and much I don't agree with. His intentions were good but he imagined that it was possible to have a special relationship with a bear and forgot that it will always be a wild animal which should be approached with caution. I have seen the movie and am reading his book. I think it is possible for humans and grizzly bears to live peacefully together and he certainly contributed to it and encouraged people to find out more about bears. Sadly enough he made a wrong judgement when he decided to camp right in the midst of the grizzly maze at the wrong time of year when every bear is very anxious to find food. This resulted in his death but let us not forget all the good he tried to do. He was a very emotional guy and very likable with an obvious bond with nature and bears in particular. If more people were like him, without taking the riscs that he took but with the same drive to protect bears, this world would be a better place.
