Ah yes he obviously cared about the animals. Enough to make a self-glorifying crapumentary in which he is trying to paint himself as the bear whisperer. Too bad he disregarded the rules of the people who actually protect them (Park Rangers) and got himself killed. The real tragedy, Willie boy, is that this nutjob's arrogance and disrespect for nature required a bear to be put down because it killed the twit. Love nature but respect it
BTW, I love hunting and I pay fees to help keep the wilderness areas that I hunt in pristine condition. I also love nature but, like many of my fellow hunters, have the sense to respect these great animals and not bother them in their natural environment. I truly hope this film does not encourage the naive to go out and try to make friends with these bears like this nutjob did. It just means more tragedy for the bears that have to be put down.

Treadwell naive but caring
I watched the film . . he was a child in a grown up body and naive and egotistical. BUT, at least he did care about the animals and what we've left of nature. Better than hunting ONLY for sport and a head on your damn wall. Let these weak minded men call Treadwell a loose nut!! I think he was closer to what is "right" than they. He made mistakes and clearly shouldn't have allowed the woman to be there .. but it was her choice. He loved very much what he was doing and enjoyed his life . . do you???
